NEWS on LIFE, WORK, & PLAY in Mississippi's College Town

A Star-Spangled Christmas!

We are gearing up for a festive series of annual holiday events in Mississippi’s College Town, and the Partnership is proud to announce this year’s Christmas Parade and event series theme… A STAR-SPANGLED CHRISTMAS!

Inspired by the iconic images of Norman Rockwell and his “Saturday Evening Post” illustrations, our 2015 theme highlights holiday traditions that have become ingrained in the American way of life, traditions which reflect freedom, patriotism, community spirit, family, faith and service to others. We honor the continual work of public service by our police officers, firemen, and first responders, as well as the heroic contributions of our servicemen. We are never more thankful for their work than during the holidays when many are taken away from their families in service to others in the community and for the cause of freedom.

Participants in the annual Christmas Parade on November 30 will interpret the “Star-Spangled” theme in floats, costumes and musical selections. The deadline for submitting participation forms is Friday, November 6. The season’s festivities will officially kick off on Sunday, November 15 as we host Christmas Open House and Cookies with Santa. Mark your calendars for these upcoming events…
