When we talk about restaurants in Starkville, lunch and dinner seem to get all the attention most of the time! It’s true. We know. The supposed most important meal of the day gets precious little love when we share specials and tasting menus, and Restaurant Week has been no different. Heading into the last weekend of SRW 2015, however, we’d like to rectify that meal discrimination! Whether you need that good-smelling burst of caffeine or sweet fix to wake up after tomorrow’s carpool drop-off, or you’re looking for hearty fare that would make your grandmother proud, OR if you know that signature mimosa is the perfect kick-off for a relaxing Sunday, our participating restaurants have just what you need.
For the quick breakfast fix, don’t miss the daily shelf specialties from The Biscuit Shop , the hand-made bagels from City Bagel Cafe or fresh made-daily donuts and pastries from Shipleys! For delicious morning (and all day) drinks from your favorite barrister, be sure to drop by 929 on Main Street. The coffee shop offers ham and cheese croissant, a weekly quiche — this week’s is mushrooms, onions & spinach — donuts, breakfast casserole and, of course, the extra large cinnamon roll!
If down-home hearty specialties are more to your taste, you can count on Starkville Cafe (shown above) and Penn’s for traditional offerings like your grandmother made — french toast, grits, eggs your way, bacon… and BACON!
Weekend brunch is always a favorite in town during football season, but it doesn’t stop there! Your favorite game weekend spots continue their brunch offerings for Starkville Restaurant Week! Visit the Central Station Grill for specialties like French Toast (shown below), Eggs Benedict, Frittata, Biscuits and Gravy and the popular Bloody Mary Bar.
This weekend for brunch, the Veranda will feature a Crawfish Benedict, as well as Ruby Red & Rosemary and a Strawberry Grapefruit Mimosa! With so many delicious options, you’ll be wanting breakfast and brunch to last all day! Don’t miss these great options through Sunday as we close out Starkville Restaurant Week, and don’t forget to grab your ballot and vote for the charity you think is most deserving of our $5000 grand prize! Happy eating!
