The Greater Starkville area has a number of communications outlets which offer a complete array of information and entertainment options.
The local newspaper, THE STARKVILLE DAILY NEWS provides daily information about the area. THE COMMERCIAL DISPATCH (Columbus) and NORTHEAST MISSISSIPPI DAILY JOURNAL (Tupelo), both of which have Starkville bureaus, provide news for the entire Golden Triangle area. THE REFLECTOR (www.reflector-online.com), which is the student newspaper on the campus of Mississippi State University, is published on Tuesdays and Fridays during the fall and spring semesters; free copies are available on campus and around town.
Area radio stations offer a wide variety of music, including country, easy listening, oldies, alternative college rock, pop rock, and Christian music. Public radio and talk radio stations are also available.
The television stations located nearest Starkville are WCBI (Columbus-CBS), WTVA (Tupelo/Columbus-NBC), and WLOV (West Point-FOX). The city also receives Public Television and ETV broadcasts.
NORTHLAND CABLE COMPANY provides access to 169 channels including a local information channel. WBOV Starkville Channel 5, provided through the First United Methodist Church in Starkville, also provides information on local events.
