The Board of Directors for the Greater Starkville Development Partnership voted on Tuesday to formally open the search for the next President and Chief Executive Officer of the Partnership. The Board also approved a new position: Director of Tourism Development.
“The future of the Partnership and our community is bright, and we look forward to adding two new individuals to our team who are committed and passionate about the opportunities ahead,” commented Board Chair Michelle Amos. “We are seeking a leader that possesses a passion for the economic development for Starkville and Oktibbeha County and for community-wide quality of life improvements.”
Additional qualifications include the skills necessary to work with city, county, fellow employees, industrial and retail clients, developers, the local university and junior college, public and private schools and other public/private entities to promote the best possible team approach for fostering prosperity for all concerned. A Bachelor’s Degree in a related field for business and economic development is preferred and at least five (5) years of actual experience is desired. Preference will be given to individuals with a proven track record in fund raising and marketing endeavors. Salary will be commensurate with experience.
Applications for the President/CEO position will be accepted through December 31, 2016. The tourism position will be filled by the next President/CEO. Applications for the tourism position will not be accepted at this time.
