Mississippi’s College Town is bringing a whole new meaning to Friday Night Lights this weekend a we kick off our 2016 New South Weekends series with a brand new event… NIGHT MARKET! Fire Station Park will take on a new and urban vibe, as the Starkville Main Street Association hosts an upscale street market complete with indy shopkeepers, artisans, favorite Downtown retailers, and of course, an exclusive showcase of Starkville food and drink. The event will be held Friday, September 2 from 7:00pm to 9:00pm.
Twinkling tents and string-lighted paths, upscale lounging areas, live music, cocktail and craft beer tastings, delicious food samplings, and adventurous shopping around every corner will make Night Market an unforgettable evening before Mississippi State’s home opener. Conceived as a way to feature many of our Downtown and “mid-town” retailers in the Russell Street and Lampkin corridors, Night Market will include “pop-up” venues of some of Starkville’s favorite and award-winning retail shops. In addition, the Starkville Main Street Association has had its ear to the ground for the last few months, scoping out some of the up-and-coming independent retailers and artisans from the Starkville area and around the region. The invitation-only list of vendors promises to offer a chic and eclectic mix of arts, home wares, fashion, and plenty of unique finds.
