The Greater Starkville Development Partnership will highlight 15 years of success during a black tie affair on Thursday, January 28 at The Mill at MSU. The Partnership Annual Banquet will kick off a year-long Crystal Anniversary celebration. The program will include success stories from the first fifteen years, the presentation of annual awards, and will feature a red carpet, cocktails, catered meal, and a celebratory champagne toast.
The Greater Starkville Development Partnership began as one of the first cooperative organizations of its kind in Mississippi which brought the interests of economic development, business growth and tourism promotion under one community development umbrella. During its first 15 years of operation, the Partnership has coalesced as a central hub of community-led efforts to grow the economic prosperity of Starkville and Oktibbeha County, and to facilitate a more vibrant quality of life for residents, visitors and businesses seeking to locate or expand in the Starkville community.
As a partnership between the Starkville Area Chamber of Commerce, the Starkville Convention and Visitors Bureau, and the Oktibbeha County Economic Development Authority, GSDP has channelled the resources of each member organization toward ongoing programs and events which cross-promote and impact various areas of growth. Since its inception, the Partnership has also expanded to encompass the Starkville Main Street Association and the Starkville Community Market, programs designed to enhance the Downtown districts as destinations for business growth and tourism.
The Partnership Annual Banquet and Crystal Celebration will begin at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday, January 28 with social hour and cocktails. Dinner will be served at 6:30 p.m. with a program following. Limited seating is available, and tickets may be purchased online.
