Introducing the Lantern Project

Attendees will learn about the Lantern Project, a multi-state and multi-institution effort led by Mississippi State University Libraries to digitize legal records of enslaved persons generously funded by the National Historical Publications and Records Commission (NHPRC) of the U.S. National Archives and Records Administration and get tips on navigating both the project digital collection and specific historic documents included in the project, such as probate records.
