MSU Game Weekend Guide: October 13-15

NEW SOUTH WEEKENDS get SPOOKED this weekend, as we host Bulldog Nation for another Mississippi State home game, and the festivities begin on Friday with our annual harvest fest, PUMPKINPALOOZA. We have a lot in store this weekend, so read on to see what’s happening, including great resources for shopping and dining. You’ll find great information and helpful links for your best game weekend yet… HAIL STATE!

 


THURSDAY, OCT 12

FRIDAY, OCT 13

New South Weekends will spook out Main Street with tons of fall family fun this Friday night from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.

6:00pm — Mississippi State Pep Rally
Coach Vic Schafer and Coach Ben Howland will kick off the Hail State spirit, along with the championship Women’s Basketball team, Bully and the MSU cheer squads!

6:15 – 6:45pm — The Basketball team will be available to meet fans and sign autographs before heading Maroon Madness at the Hump at 8:30.

World-renowned iLuminate will be the featured guest at Friday’s family friendly Maroon Madness, slated to begin at 8:30 p.m. at Humphrey Coliseum. Admission is free, and you won’t want to miss this annual tip-off of the Bulldog Men’s and Women’s basketball season.

The night’s festivities will also include a dunk contest, a 3-point contest and an all-star style hot shot competition. The women, fresh off their national championship game appearance and upset of top-ranked UConn, will also conduct a 5-minute, 4-on-4 scrimmage.

 


SATURDAY, OCT 14 – GAME DAY!

GAME WEEKEND SHOPPING

There’s plenty of time this weekend to visit your favorite Starkville shops & boutiques to find tailgating supplies and the latest styles for Saturday’s game! Upper levels wear MAROON and Lower levels were WHITE! Our Downtown merchants have something for Bulldogs of all ages! Thanks to Reeds and Occasions for showing us a peek t some of their gameday wear and gear!

 

Before Saturday’s contest with BYU, be sure to plan time to enjoy Starkville’s many local shops and restaurants! Our Starkville Main Street members always roll out the maroon carpet with sidewalk sales, dining and drink specials and more! This Google Map will serve as your walking tour guide!

TO & FROM THE GAME… LOGISTICS

PARKING DOWNTOWN:
Free public parking lots is available in Downtown Starkville in public lots off Jefferson and Lampkin streets, as well as street-side on Lampkin (shown in gold on map below). These allow great opportunities to explore. Two-hour parking is also available street-side in the blue designated areas below.

TRANSPORTATION OPTIONS:
Starkville offers three options for public transit to and from Davis Wade Stadium on gameday. Check out your options below, and visit SMART TRANSIT for a full list of routes, schedules and arrival times.
