For the first time, the Starkville Main Street Association will partner with Children’s of Mississippi to raise funds for the hospital.
The event will take place July 12-17. This promotional event was orchestrated to promote shopping in Starkville while supporting an important cause. A percentage of sales from participating retailers from the week go directly to Children’s of Mississippi.
Multiple stores around Starkville will be participating. The list of participating stores includes: 929 Coffee, Book Mart & Cafe, Merle Norman & Luna Bella, Moe’s Original BBQ, Carli & Co., L.A. Green, and Reed’s.
Lauren Ann Cooper, owner and founder of L.A. Green, said, “Children’s is so special to me and my family. They go above and beyond for the kids in their care and their families.”

Cooper’s oldest son Rhett is a former patient of the hospital, and her family stayed for a week during his care.
Ryan Mains, Development Liaison for Children’s of Mississippi, also discussed the upcoming event.
“We are excited to partner with the Starkville Main Street Association on this fundraiser, and we are so thankful for the businesses that are supporting Mississippi’s only children’s hospital,” Mains said.
The Partnership is comprised of the Starkville Area Chamber of Commerce, Oktibbeha County Economic Development Authority, Starkville Convention and Visitors Bureau, and the Starkville Main Street Association.
