An 1850s Starkville home is being featured Sunday [Nov. 11] at 1 p.m. in “Hammer to the Manor,” a nationally televised pilot show on HGTV.
Located on Worley Street in Mississippi’s College Town, the home owned by Brooke and Tom Lammert was recently renovated by locals Austin Shafer and his sister Amanda Shafer Kelley.
Austin operates Fry Retool Company in Starkville where he restores axes, vintage tools and cast iron cookware. Amanda offers design services in Starkville and runs retail store Jamison Fry, where she sells home goods and authentic vintage finds.
A watch party for the pilot episode will take place Sunday from noon-2 p.m. at Fire Station Park. Sponsored by Starkville Main St. and Southern Tradition Tailgating, the event is open to the public. Cheese fries from Bin 612 will be available, along with free popcorn and hot chocolate. Attendees are welcome to bring their own refreshments and are encouraged to bring seating, as a limited amount will be provided.
Every viewer/TV that is tuned in to HGTV during the pilot episode will count toward the total required for the show to get a season run.
