STARKVILLE, Miss.— Paige Hunt has been named the Director of Tourism for the Greater Starkville Development Partnership and the Starkville Visitors & Convention Council.

In this role, Hunt will work to develop and implement programs that further the vision for tourism in Starkville: Mississippi’s College Town. She will assume her new role and duties on January 19, 2021.
President & Chief Executive Officer, Mike Tagert, said, “Mrs. Hunt’s knowledge and experience coupled with her enthusiasm for Starkville and Mississippi’s College Town will benefit our entire community.”
Tagert added, “She brings a wealth of experience to our tourism post and an understanding of how important tourism is to the economy of our city.”
Robin Fant, Chairman of the Convention and Visitors Bureau Board of Directors said, “We are excited to have Mrs. Hunt on board and look forward to her improving tourism efforts for the community in this role.”
Hunt said, “I am thrilled to join the team at the Partnership. I began my career in the tourism industry in Starkville some twenty years ago, and while I’ve served other Mississippi destinations, none hold my heart like Starkville.”
“I’ve seen the positive impact that tourism can have on a city’s economy, and I look forward to bringing my experience to Mississippi’s College Town and growing its tourism sector,” said Hunt.
Hunt has an extensive background in the promotion of destination markets as locations for conventions, sporting events, and cultural tourism. Her efforts have directly benefitted those local communities with significant economic impact.
