Starkville’s 17th Annual Get Swept Up event proved to be yet another huge success.
Various businesses, as well as community and civic organizations came together to pickup trash on Wednesday, September 2 throughout the Starkville area. Due to COVID-19, supply pick up times varied and were staggered throughout the two days prior to the event.
Over 529 volunteers participated this year and were able to cover nearly every major street of the city. Typically hosted before the first MSU football home opener, the goal of Get Swept Up 2020 is to clean and spruce up the city before attracting Fall visitors.
A longtime Get Swept Up team, The Starkville Rotary Club cleaned both major blocks of Main Street, and the Mississippi State University Alumni Delegates participated for their first time and beautified J.L. King Park.
The Partnership thanks each and every sponsor and participant for this year’s event.
