Savor our South Kicks-Off with SOUPer Bowl THIS Saturday

Each spring Mississippi’s College Town hosts various creative culinary events in our ‘Savor Our South’ event series. This year’s series kicks-off THIS Saturday with our annual SOUPer Bowl soup tasting contest.

Thirteen local restaurants have signed-on to prepare and serve a delicious soup and allow attendees to vote on their favorite choice. Participants compete in both presentation and taste, as they prepare a unique featured soup, complimentary ingredients and table decorations.

Hosted by the Starkville Main Street Association, this event will be held 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. in conjunction with the Frostbite Half Marathon outside on Main Street. Participating Restaurants include:

Bulldog Burger Co. — Brunswick Stew
Nine-TwentyNine Coffee — Red Curry with Coconut Poached Shrimp
Moe’s Original BBQ — Brunswick Stew
Humble Taco — Taco Soup
Central Station Grill — Bourbon Street Boudin Gumbo with Poached Jumbo Shrimp
The Camphouse — Smoked Turkey and Vegetable
BIN 612 — Miso Soup
Sweet Peppers Deli — Ms. Rosie’s Cheese Soup with Parmesean Toasted Croutons
Commodore Bob’s — Mexican Style Street Corn Soup
City Bagel Café — Hoppin’ John
Harvey’s — Winter Harvest Shrimp Consume
Two Brothers — Gumbo
Restaurant Tyler — Chicken Noodle Ramen Soup

Advance tickets for SOUPer Bowl are $15 for adults and $5 for children, and may be purchased online. Tickets are also available at the Partnership office and may be purchased the day of the event for $20.
