Savor Our South Kicks-Off With Souper Bowl This Saturday

WHO’S SOUP WILL BE HOTTEST? SAVOR OUR SOUTH KICKS-OFF WITH SOUPER BOWL THIS SATURDAY!

Each spring Mississippi’s College Town hosts various creative culinary events in our ‘Savor Our South’ event series. This year’s series kicks-off THIS Saturday with our annual SOUPer Bowl soup tasting contest.

Fourteen local restaurants have signed-on to prepare and serve a delicious soup and allow attendees to vote on their favorite choice. Participants compete in both presentation and taste, as they prepare a unique featured soup, complimentary ingredients and table decorations.

Hosted by the Starkville Main Street Association, this event will be held 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. for the second year in conjunction with the Frostbite Half Marathon outside on Main Street. Live music will be provided by Bill Cooke & Jeffrey Rupp. Participating Restaurants include:

Bulldog Burger Co.– Tonkatsu Ramen
Central Station Grill– Farfalle Noddle Soup with Roasted Pork
City Bagel Café– Burgoo
Commodore Bob’s– Lobster Bisque
Harvey’s– Wild Rabbit Gumbo
King’s Craft Butcher– Black eyed pea curry soup with Naan
Moe’s Original BBQ– Smoked Turkey White Bean Chili
Nine-TwentyNine Coffee– Chicken & Dumplings
Restaurant Tyler– Texas Style Chili with Firecracker cornbread
Rosey Baby– Bayou Bisque
Starkville Country Club– Smoked Duck & Coconut
The Camphouse– Chicken Stew
Two Brothers– Duck Gumbo

Advance tickets for SOUPer Bowl are $15 for adults and $5 for children, and may be purchased online. Tickets are also available at the Partnership office and may be purchased the day of the event for $20.
